Ordering Beef
THIS IS AN ESTIMATE OF BEEF AND COSTS.
*ALL PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO CHANGING OF THE MARKETS*
A quarter of beef usually has a hanging weight of around 200lbs.
On Average for a quarter of a beef this breaks down as follows:
o 7 T‐bone steaks (3/4” thick)
o 7 rib steaks (3/4”)
o 4 sirloin steaks (3/4”)
o 4 round steaks (3/4”)
o 1 sirloin tip roasts (3 lbs.)
o 3 chuck roasts (4 lbs.)
o 2 arm roasts (3 lbs.)
o 1 rump roasts (3 lbs.)
o 4 packages of stew beef (1 lb.)
o 2 packages of short ribs (1.5 lbs.)
o 2 packages of soup bones (1.5 lbs.)
o 1 brisket (4-5 lbs.)
o if desired heart, liver, & tongue
o 40-60 lbs. ground beef (90/10) The amount of ground beef will increase if you choose not to get roasts, steaks, ETC.
When purchasing a quarter, You will get cuts from front and back. The processor will weigh the half equally to make the quarter.
At $2.50 a pound hanging weight (200 POUNDS) you can estimate to pay around $500 for the beef.
You can estimate around $190-$250 for processing.
AFTER YOUR DEPOSIT. YOU WILL STILL HAVE 2 PAYMENTS. ONE FOR PROCESSING AND THE OTHER TO PAY FOR THE REST OF THE BEEF.
ACTUAL TAKE HOME MEAT IS AROUND 130 POUNDS. MAKING AN AVERAGE COST OF AROUND $5.38 PER POUND ACROSS THE BOARD FOR ALL BEEF CUTS!
***GRASS FED/FINISHED BEEF WILL BE $3+ DOLLARS A POUND HANGING WEIGHT AND WILL DIFFER FROM GRAIN FINISHED.***
