Just like our beef. We start small. We purchase Red Duroc pigs around 40 to 50 pounds.
Our pigs enjoy a corn, soybean, pea mixture as a feed ration. SOMETIMES they get a tasty treat from the garden.
Our pigs are raised with plenty of fresh air. They are not in a confinement. They have cornstalk bedding pack which they like to lay/play in.
The Red Duroc pig as been a customer favorite. We currently get them processed at Dover Processing in Dover, MN

Typical cuts from 1/2 HOG
These numbers are estimates and every pig with differ slightly
-12 to 14 pounds pork chops
-15 to 18 pounds of ham
- 2 to 3 shoulder roasts
- 8 to 10 pounds of bacon
- 3 pounds of spare ribs
- 6 to 10 pounds of ground pork or sausage
- 2 hocks
- additional items: heart, liver, tongue, lard
-other items if you choose not to get hams or roasts: Brats, Sausage links, Rib ticklers, pork steak, cottage bacon. Many options just ask the processor when the call for your cut order.
